Ideally located for exploring Honley, Holmfirth, the Peak District and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
The space
Jeff’s Cottage is a charming three-bedroom holiday cottage in the heart of Honley, one of West Yorkshire’s most sought-after villages. Sleeping up to five guests, this characterful Yorkshire retreat combines traditional cottage charm with comfortable modern living, making it an ideal choice for families, couples, walkers, cyclists and those looking to explore Holmfirth, the Peak District and the beautiful Holme Valley.
Full of character throughout, the cottage showcases exposed timber beams, original wooden flooring, traditional stonework and period features that reflect the rich history of the area. From the moment you arrive, you’ll discover a warm and welcoming space designed for relaxing after days spent exploring the Yorkshire countryside.
Jeff’s Cottage is arranged as an upside-down house, creating a unique and sociable layout. All three bedrooms and the family bathroom are located on the ground floor, while the entire first floor is dedicated to a spacious open-plan living area. This elevated living space takes full advantage of the cottage’s beautiful vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and abundance of natural light, creating a wonderful place to gather with family and friends.
The accommodation comprises three comfortable bedrooms, including a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom, allowing the cottage to comfortably accommodate up to five guests. The family bathroom features a bath with an overhead shower, ideal for both relaxing soaks and refreshing starts to the day.
Upstairs, the open-plan living area forms the heart of the cottage. The cosy lounge provides comfortable seating arranged around a striking stone fireplace, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the year. Adjacent to the lounge is a traditional dining area, perfect for enjoying family meals, planning the day’s adventures or unwinding with a glass of wine in the evening. The fully equipped kitchen offers everything needed for a self-catered stay, whether you’re preparing a hearty Yorkshire breakfast before heading out or cooking a family meal after a day exploring the region.
One of Jeff’s Cottage’s greatest attractions is its superb location. Situated near the centre of Honley, guests are within easy walking distance of independent cafés, traditional pubs, restaurants, bakeries and local shops. Honley is widely regarded as one of the most attractive villages in the Holme Valley, offering a welcoming community atmosphere and easy access to some of Yorkshire’s most spectacular countryside.
The famous market town of Holmfirth, best known as the filming location for Last of the Summer Wine, is just a short drive away and offers an excellent selection of shops, eateries, bars and attractions. Guests can also explore the stunning landscapes of the Peak District National Park, enjoy scenic walks across the Pennines, visit nearby reservoirs and countryside trails, or discover the many charming villages scattered throughout the region.

**Please note:** Jeff’s Cottage is arranged as an upside-down house, with all bedrooms and the bathroom located on the ground floor and the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space situated on the first floor. Guests will therefore need to use the internal staircase regularly during their stay.
Other things to note
Please note a few important things before your stay:
• Jeff’s Cottage is located within a quiet residential neighbourhood. We kindly ask guests to be respectful of neighbouring properties at all times, particularly during the evenings. Quiet hours are between 10:00pm and 8:00am.
• The cottage welcomes well-behaved dogs. However, due to severe allergies, we are unable to accommodate cats under any circumstances.
• Strictly no smoking or vaping anywhere inside the property.
• Jeff’s Cottage is arranged as an upside-down house, with all bedrooms and the bathroom located on the ground floor and the kitchen, dining area and lounge situated on the first floor.
• The cottage features a steep internal staircase and may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties or anyone who struggles with stairs.
• There is no garden at the property. Guests do, however, have access to a small seating area at the front of the cottage with room for two small outdoor chairs.
• Guests can park on the street directly outside the cottage, although spaces can occasionally be limited due to the property’s central village location and the narrow road. A parking space is also available at Honley Liberal Club, approximately 200 yards from the cottage, providing a convenient alternative if on-street parking is unavailable.
• We simply ask all guests to treat the cottage with care and respect during their stay so future visitors can enjoy it too.
